As the seasonal break approaches, Gonzalo de la Viňa, Head of European Module Business at Trina Solar, shares this message with our valued partners.
“Another tremendous year, battered by the Covid pandemic, is coming to an end. All of us at Trina Solar sincerely hope that you and your loved ones are safe and healthy and are now looking forward to some joyful holidays to relax and recharge.
We are very lucky to have amazing customers everywhere in Europe. Together we have gone through ups and downs this year, including a sharp increase in raw material and logistics cost. You, our customers, have been standing firmly by our side through these tough months, and let me thank you very much for bearing with us and for being a true partner!
Your support is highly appreciated and enables us to keep growing in the region, to serve you even better in the long run. We are confident that the raw material and transport costs situation will return to normal next year.
Taking a closer look at Europe, our strong regional team, and great business partnerships make me feel happy and proud. On the one hand, we keep growing the European Trina team, further adding to our extensive sales and service network. We want to be your next-door neighbors in traditional markets as well as in countries that have recently added PV to their energy mix.
On the other hand, the European PV market has grown remarkably by more than 50% in 2021. Thanks to our strong network we have been able to respond to customer demand, maintaining our market position in both volume and technology. Our completely renewed rooftop module series Vertex S and Vertex 510 has been specifically designed for Europe and our regional requirements.
Although the coronavirus pandemic has not been overcome, it has given us a little break over the summer. Luckily, we could meet in person again at several industry events across Europe. Trina Solar had very successful presentations at Intersolar Restart, SolarSolutions and Genera, and a number of important conferences – both online and in real life. Let’s hope that trade fairs and conferences can go ahead as scheduled next year!
2021 has been a year with many challenges, while for the PV industry it has also been very successful. This year, Trina Solar has more than tripled its annual module production capacity to 50GW; we have renewed our TrinaTracker portfolio, seamlessly integrating with the 210mm Vertex modules; and the team at Trina Storage, our newest family member, have done a tremendous job in launching large-scale energy storage systems to the market. Overall, our company has taken huge steps forward and has become a truly integrated provider of smart energy systems.
As for 2022, we will continue our mission to bring Future-Proof Power to Europe. Our strong commitment to the region is reflected in new product developments for European needs. We will bring newer cell and module technologies to the market, both for rooftops and for ground-mounted arrays, which you will learn more about very soon.
On behalf of our European team, thank you very much for placing your trust in Trina Solar in 2021. Let us make 2022 another successful solar year together!
We wish you and your loved ones a peaceful holiday period, and a great new year 2022 full of joy and success. Above all: stay healthy!"
