Trinasolar has been recognized as a “2024 Overall Highest Achiever” for great reliability, superior energy yield and outstanding performance of its Vertex N 625W modules in the annual PV Module Index (PVMI) by the Renewable Energy Test Center(RETC). Its Vertex N 700W+ series modules have won this accolade last year. This recognition of Vertex N modules has consolidated Trina's leadership in the industry.
The annual report evaluates modules in terms of quality, performance and reliability, with the Overall Highest Achiever given only to manufacturers who are high achiever across all three categories, providing a reference for stakeholders. Trinasolar secured Overall Highest Achiever award by receiving high achievement recognition, including ultraviolet-induced degradation (UVID), PID, thermal cycle, efficiency, LID, PTC-to-STC and BOM verification.
“We’re proud of being recognized once again as Overall Highest Achiever by RETC,” said Cao Yunduan, head of global brand and marketing at Trinasolar. “this recognition is a testament to our commitment to supplying customers with the highest quality and best-performing modules.”
“We are very happy and honored to recognize Trina as one of the overall highest achievers, so in terms of quality, reliability and performance, Trina has ranked extremely high.” said Cherif Kedir, President and CEO, RETC. He also commented that Trina's products are one of the best performing products they have tested.
RETC conducts a series of reliability tests including According to RETC, UVID problems in PV modules could become a major reliability issue, more particularly in newer cell technologies such as tunnel oxide passivated contact (TOPCon) solar cells. RETC has made UVID among its test sequences this year.
In the UVID category, PV module samples had to withstand UV220 exposure with less than 2% degradation in maximum power, nearly 15 times the UV exposure required for product certification (UV 15). Trinasolar's Vertex N 625W module is one of the only 2 modules meeting RETC's UVID high achiever criteria. It shows 1.53% and 0.94% degradation respectively in the front and back after UVID test. “Trina has been showing the lowest degradation rates of any manufacturers we tested so far this year, so your product has done amazingly well.” said Cherif in an interview.
Trinasolar is recognized by renowned international institutions. It has been awarded the "Top Performer" by Kiwa PVEL for ten consecutive years and achieves top position in Global solar module manufacturer ranking 2024 by Wood Mackenzie.
