Trinasolar Vertex S+ n-type dual glass module shines in TÜV Nord test with 3.09% energy lift
2024.01.30

In the three-month empirical testing period, Trina Solar’s Vertex S+ 445W and Vertex S+ 450W modules demonstrated energy yield increase of 3.09% and 2.77% compared with reference p-type modules. Excellent performance under low irradiance conditions was also exhibited in the tests, which are continuing.

The empirical study, started in July and to be conducted over 12 months, is being conducted by TÜV Nord. The selected study site, in Jiangsu province, China, has a subtropical monsoon climate with an average temperature of 15 ℃, providing ideal conditions for the research. To ensure the comprehensiveness of the study, both the Vertex S+ n-type dual glass series modules and the reference p-type modules were installed on a 45° slope roof facing due south.

According to TÜV Nord, in first three months of the study the Vertex S+ n-type dual glass series module produced a notable energy yield. The accumulated power generation of Vertex S+ 450W dual glass modules is 2.77% higher than that of a reference module. In addition, the accumulated power generation of Vertex S+ 445W clear black modules is 3.09% higher than the reference module.

To evaluate the low-irradiance performance of the modules, both the Vertex S+ n-type dual glass series module and the reference p-type module were subjected to tests at 200W/m2, 400W/m2, 600W/m2, and 800W/m2. The test results reveal a higher low-irradiance performance for the Vertex S+ n-type dual glass series module compared with the reference p-type module, with an average performance difference of 0.59% higher. These findings demonstrate that Trina Solar’s Vertex S+ n-type dual glass series modules maintain exceptional efficiency even in regions with low irradiance, such as Europe and Japan.

The Vertex S+ n-type dual glass module series combines 210mm rectangular silicon wafer (210R) cell technology with n-type i-TOPCon Advanced technology, resulting in enhanced efficiency and increased power generation. With a lightweight dual-glass structure thickness of 1.6mm/1.6mm, this module ensures ultra-high reliability and safety. The series comes with two options: Vertex S+ 450W, offering higher power generation for greater customer benefits, and Vertex S+ 445W, characterized by a black aesthetic tailored for upscale household roofs, carports, and public spaces. This design seamlessly complements various architectural styles, providing customers with a comprehensive high-performance green aesthetic experience. The Vertex S+ series won the prestigious German Design Award this year, highlighting its exceptional design excellence.

Trina Solar, committed to leading the way in smart PV and energy storage solutions, will continue to focus on customer value with its advanced technology and reliable products.
