Trina Solar delivers FixOrigin solar mounting system plus High-Power Modules in Germany
2022.04.20

Trina Solar Co., Ltd. ("Trina Solar" or the "Company"), a leading global PV and smart energy total solution provider, has delivered the first fixed-structure FixOrigin mounting systems, combined with high performance solar PV modules, to Germany. The panels and mounting structure are the backbone of Solarpark Eisenstorf in the Bavarian community of Otzing. It is the first bundled system in Germany to consist entirely of Trina Solar modules and substructures.

The Eisenstorf solar park is a new solar installation by EPC developer Solea AG, which specializes in constructing industry-leading clean energy parks. The utility-scale power plant will feed solar power into the local electric grid, reducing reliance on other forms of energy.

Trina Solar has delivered more than 13,000 of its high-efficiency monocrystalline solar PV modules with a total capacity of 6MWp to Solea to power the solar park. Trina Solar also provided a complete FixOrigin fixed-tilt structure mounting system for these panels. This is the first use of these newly launched mounting racks in Germany. FixOrigin is fully compatible with ultra-high performance large-format solar modules up to 670W+, with its structural stability having been confirmed in comprehensive wind tunnel tests. It is designed for quick and easy installation while maintaining high flexibility and compatibility with different foundation solutions. FixOrigin has been optimized for bifacial large-format PV modules, minimizing the impact of rear-side shading.

As a recognized industry leader in solar panel research and development, Trina Solar has filed more than 1,000 solar photovoltaic patents to date for modules and more than 50 on mounting structures. This technological superiority is why Trina Solar products are among the most efficient on the market.

According to Georg Sterner, CFO of Solea AG, “Trina Solar is one of the prime solar panel module suppliers for Solea. In the past, we’ve developed our own solar racking systems to mount the panels. However, we are aiming to begin larger projects in the future, and producing our own racks would be inefficient at that scale.”

Sterner continues, “That is why we have chosen to expand our partnership with Trina Solar. We were looking for a reliable partner to provide mounting racks for our larger projects. Trina Solar’s FixOrigin mounting systems are designed to work with the solar panels we already purchase, minimizing complications and keeping construction on schedule. This project in Eisenstorf is the start of what will be a long and productive partnership.”

The Solarpark Eisenstorf is scheduled to be completed by May 1, 2022. Once commissioned, it is estimated to yield 6,600 MWh of clean energy per year, helping Germany reduce CO2 emissions by as much as 4.1 million kilograms annually. This is the equivalent of preventing two million kilograms of coal or two million liters of gasoline from being burned every year.

Solea AG and Trina Solar are proud to work together to help reduce emissions and improve access to clean energy in Germany. The companies have collaborated on past projects such as the Rotthalmünster park, which generates 11.5 MWp of power, and the Pilling park, which peaks at 2.5 MWp.

Gonzalo de la Viña, Head of Europe at Trina Solar, commented: “While Trina Solar has become known as a leading global manufacturer of best-in-class solar PV modules, we have not stopped there. Our FixOrigin mounting system, just as our TrinaTracker product range, combined with our premium photovoltaic modules is an important step to lowering LCOE even more by optimizing and integrating different system components. Trina Solar has come a long way in its transition to an integrated smart energy provider, including modules, mounting systems and large-scale storage technologies.“

Both companies look forward to continuing their partnership and developing world-class solar energy installments throughout the country with additional FixOrigin solar mounting systems bundled with Trina Solar’s innovative panels.
