In efforts to reduce their reliance upon traditional fossil fuels, more countries are turning to solar to meet their renewable energy goals.

Israel announced it will begin making plans for a 500-megawatt solar power facility, the largest of its kind of the country. The project, which will be a public-private partnership, will cover about 2.3 square miles near the town of Dimona.

The project is part of Israel's plan to have renewables account for 10 percent of its energy production by 2020. As one of the world's leading solar panel manufacturers, Trina Solar is dedicated to bringing this clean power source to regions all around the globe.
