In 2007, the Minnesota state legislature passed one of the most ambitious Renewable Energy Standards. The bill, dubbed The Next Generation Energy Act, mandates 25 percent of the state’s electricity come from renewable sources by 2025.
Experts anticipate solar energy generation to grow 15-fold in 2016. Many projects are in development or already in construction, such as rooftop panel installations, community solar and utility-scale projects.
