As 2024 comes to a close, it’s time to reflect on a year marked by challenges and achievements, and to share our aspirations for 2025.

Looking Back at 2024: A Year of Resilience and Progress

The solar industry experienced a year of contrasts in 2024. Market conditions slowed down due to overcapacity, leading to pricing pressures and industry-wide consolidation. However, these changes also made solar energy more affordable and accessible, underscoring its critical role in the global energy transition.

Despite these headwinds, Trinasolar achieved remarkable milestones alongside our partners. We saw a 26% increase in shipped volume in the first half of 2024 compared to 2023. By midyear, Trinasolar had delivered 140 GW of Vertex modules, 7 GWh of energy storage solutions, and 23 GW of mounting structures. Additionally, we expanded our module production capacity to 120 GW, ensuring we are well-equipped to meet future demand.

Our commitment to sustainability and innovation remained steadfast, earning us significant accolades. This year, our factories in Yiwu and Yancheng were certified as zero-carbon, zero-waste, and zero-landfill facilities, while our manufacturing plant in Viana, Spain, received carbon footprint certification. These achievements reflect our dedication to ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) excellence and a greener future for Europe.

Trinasolar continued to strengthen its position as an integrated solutions provider, closing the first combined projects with modules, structures, and utility-scale storage. Stay tuned for the full stories!

We also advanced our Trina Storage division with the launch of our fully integrated Elementa 2 BESS solution for the utility business, tested and validated for European market readiness. Likewise we started the rollout of our home storage solution, Nexeos. These developments were supported by our expanded engineering and project teams in Europe, ensuring that we remain a reliable partner in delivering cutting-edge solutions.

Outlook for 2025: Building on a Strong Foundation

Looking ahead, 2025 promises to be another pivotal year for the solar industry. As the market consolidates, Trinasolar is positioned to emerge as a leader, thanks to our sound strategy, financial resilience, sustainability credentials, robust R&D, and diversified portfolio.

In Europe, we are setting ambitious targets for the module business, aiming to outperform the market while driving innovation and value for our partners in the region. With solar continuing to be the most affordable and most scalable renewable energy source, its role in achieving decarbonization targets is indispensable. Together, we can further accelerate the rollout of renewable energy in Europe and beyond, building a brighter and cleaner future.
