Trinasolar Introduces Lightweight and Anti-dust N-type Modules, a Reliable Choice in Commercial and Industrial Rooftop Settings
2024.09.13

Growing global demand for clean energy has driven the development of various PV projects. Nevertheless, commercial and industrial rooftop PV projects often face challenges such as inadequate roof load capacity, complex installation, and difficulties in operations and maintenance. Particularly, about 40% of existing factory roofs lack the structural integrity needed to support traditional PV panels. In addition, for projects with low inclination angles, PV modules are prone to accumulating dust and snow, leading to hot spots or module surface defects, adversely affecting the efficiency of power generation and shortening the lifespan of modules.

This year, Trinasolar is launching the Vertex N monofacial glass-backsheet module and an anti-dust module specifically designed for commercial and industrial rooftops, addressing the issues previously mentioned. Both modules have entered mass production and are being delivered sequentially worldwide, gaining high recognition from industry partners and customers for their outstanding reliability and overall value.

Using Trinasolar’s innovative 210R rectangular silicon wafer design and standard size format of 2382x1134mm, the two modules weigh only 27.9kg, ideal for commercial and industrial low-load rooftop applications. The anti-dust solution’s patented and optimized frame design effectively mitigates dust accumulation in low-angle settings, ensuring a longer lifespan and improved power generation. Both products can effectively meet the requirements of most non-utility commercial and industrial rooftop settings.

What outstanding reliability do these two modules demonstrate? Let’s look at the performance of the Vertex N general solution and the anti-dust solution in various tests.

General solution

Combined with the latest n-type TOPCon Advanced technology, the general solution has a maximum output power of 630W and an efficiency of 23.3%. Its monofacial glass-backsheet design is light, weighing just 10.7kg a square meter, well below the requirement for color steel tile roofs, and entirely suitable in commercial and industrial low-load settings. Compared with 182-72N modules, by increasing the module length by just 10.4cm, power output can be increased by up to 30W. With ultra-high system compatibility and an optimal size format, container space utilization reaches 98.5%, maximizing container transportation and reducing transportation costs for customers. Lower voltage design significantly leads to higher string power. Compared with 182-72N modules, the string power is increased by up to 18%, optimizing installed capacity and power generation, thereby maximizing customer and system value. Additionally, the module is adaptable to various installation methods, including sloped roofs, concrete flat roofs, and color steel tile roofs, providing greater flexibility in roof construction and installation.

Anti-dust solution

For commercial and industrial low-angle installations where dust and snow accumulate readily, Trinasolar has introduced the industry’s first 600W+ anti-dust solution. It incorporates n-type TOPCon advanced cell technology, delivering impressive module output of up to 630W and an efficiency of 23.3%. The optimized design of the short side frame prevents sealant overflow and deficiencies, resisting the intrusion of moisture and ensuring the module’s adhesion strength and high-load performance.

Based on the industry golden size standard, Trinasolar’s anti-dust module retains the medium-format 2382x1134mm, providing anti-dust functionality, reducing operational and maintenance costs, and avoiding additional system design expenses for customers. Compared with conventional modules, it significantly increases power generation throughout the lifecycle and reduces the frequency of module cleaning.

Outstanding quality and worry-free reliability

With a customer-centric approach, Trinasolar is committed to continuous research, development, and innovation in n-type cell technology, placing significant emphasis on the reliability of the entire product lifecycle. To validate the stability of the two solutions in extreme climate conditions, Trinasolar conducted a series of enhanced reliability tests that surpass industry standards to evaluate reliability, power generation performance, and product quality.

These enhanced reliability tests included 45mm hail tests, enhanced dynamic load 20 times more rigorous testing, enhanced PID, DH, TC, UV+TC50+HF10, LeTID tests, and an extreme low-temperature outdoor performance test. The modules maintained the Vertex N family’s reputation for reliability, demonstrating exceptional performance without micro-cracks in EL testing and minimal performance degradation.

Trinasolar is committed to leading the way in smart PV and energy storage solutions and will continuously advance technological innovation and product development, creating tailored solutions in non-utility commercial and industrial settings. By ensuring an optimal match between applications and diverse customer needs, Trinasolar aims to efficiently unlock the full potential of every rooftop.
