Trinasolar’s TOPCon Modules Achieve Higher Energy Yield with Stronger UV- Resistance Capabilities
2024.09.09

Trinasolar’s Vertex N 720W series modules utilizing TOPCon technology recently demonstrated exceptional performance in the UV300 test conducted by the China General Certification Center, showcasing an impressively low degradation rate of 1.6%.

Previously, Vertex N 625W TOPCon modules ranked first in RETC’s testing with a degradation rate below 1.5%. As a global leader in smart PV and energy storage solutions, Trinasolar maximizes customer value by improving UV resistance capabilities through advanced cell design and process control, significantly reducing degradation rates. The company validates the long-term reliability of its products, rigorously controlling and continuously evaluating their UV degradation resistance through third-party testing, covering UV15 to UV300 and key intermediate points, including UV60, UV120, UV180, and UV240.

Innovative UV-resistant cell design minimizes UV degradation

UV exposure can cause power loss in solar modules. Trinasolar solved this problem by designing its TOPCon cells with strengthened UV resistance. The cell membrane structure is meticulously engineered to balance low light self-absorption, low reflection, and effective UV blocking, ensuring outstanding UV resistance while maintaining high efficiency.

Through a combination of theoretical insights and extensive experimental validation, Trinasolar refined the passivation film layer process to provide both robust and stable passivation capabilities. The company’s unique annealing process finds an optimal balance between chemical passivation and field-effect passivation, achieving optimal efficiency and UV resistance.

During mass production, Trinasolar adheres to industry-leading control standards to ensure consistent passivation performance within and across cell batches. This rigorous approach guarantees uniform UV resistance and further enhances the module’s durability and performance.

Stringent process controls ensure high reliability of Trinasolar’s products

Trinasolar maintains strict standards in producing cell passivation films and in its coating processes. The company implements rigorous reliability testing and monitoring protocols: New equipment and production lines adhere to the UV120 control standard, while mass-produced modules undergo quarterly UV60 sampling tests, with regular reviews and trend analysis to continually optimize results. Trinasolar has also developed a comprehensive new product introduction process and Engineering Change Control Board management platform to ensure rigorous quality control from development through updates.

Through continuing technological innovation, Trinasolar is dedicated to improving the reliability of its PV cells, maximizing module performance, and leading the photovoltaic industry in high-quality development.
